It is surrounded by 80.5 hectares (200 acres) of private land, including a waterfall, streams, and panoramic wilderness views.Utsjoki is the only municipality in Finland with a majority Sami native population, in addition it is also the EUs most northern Municipality

The Four Cabin House is situated on a vast 80.5-hectare (200-acre) private plot, offering unmatched privacy and tranquility in Finnish Lapland. There are no neighboring buildings or public trails nearby — only untouched nature, wilderness, and panoramic fell views in every direction. It’s ideal for guests seeking total seclusion, privacy, and peace.

3. How to get to the cabin?
The most convenient way to reach the Four Cabin House is to fly into Ivalo Airport (IVL), the nearest airport. From there, you can rent a car for the scenic 2.5–3 hour drive to Utsjoki, or arrange a private transfer or ride service through us for your convenience.

4. What are the nearest airports?
While Ivalo (IVL) is the most common arrival point, guests may also consider Alta Airport (Norway) or Kittilä Airport (Finland), depending on travel plans. Both are scenic drives to Utsjoki and can be combined with northern Lapland experiences.

5. Do I need a car to reach the cabin?
Yes, a car is recommended to reach the parking lot and explore the surrounding area, as public transportation options are limited. However, your stay can be arranged without a personal vehicle if preferred.

6. How many people can the cabin accommodate?
The cabin accommodates up to 4 adults/children in two dedicated sleeping areas, with space for an additional 2 guests using temporary bedding (futons).

7. What time is check-in and check-out?
Check-in: 16:00 (4:00 PM)
Check-out: 12:00 (12:00 PM)

8. Are pets allowed?
No, unfortunately, we cannot accept pets at the current time.

9. Are bedding and towels provided?
Yes, fresh bedding and towels are included for all guests.

10. What services are included in the rental price?

  • Transportation from the parking lot to the cabin on arrival and departure days

11. Are there any chargeable services available?
Yes, additional services (tours, transport, private chef, etc.) can be arranged for an extra fee. Services can be booked via StayNorth or directly via our partners. Please check the activities section for details.

12. How do I get to the cabin once I arrive?
Guests park in a designated lot at the beginning of the property. Transportation from the parking area to the cabin is provided on arrival and departure days via all-terrain vehicle or snow scooter, depending on the season. Walking during your stay to and from the cabin is possible, but arrival and departure are arranged for your comfort.

13. Is there internet access in the cabin?
Yes, the cabin is equipped with internet access suitable for streaming, surfing, and remote work.

14. What kitchen facilities are available?
The cabin has a fully equipped kitchen, including:

  • Refrigerator, oven, stove, dishwasher, microwave, water heater, blender, toaster, and coffee maker

  • All necessary cookware and utensils

15. Are there fireplaces in the cabin?
Yes, the cabin features two fireplaces for added comfort and safety.

Yes, the cabin has a traditional Finnish electric sauna that guests can easily use.

The cabin features central underfloor heating, as well as two fireplaces to create a cozy atmosphere and provide backup emergency heating.

18. Is there a TV in the cabin?
Yes, the cabin is equipped with a 65” television and several streaming services preinstalled.

19. Can I see the northern lights from the cabin?
Yes, the cabin’s north-facing location offers excellent opportunities to view the northern lights, especially in autumn and winter. Minimal light pollution makes it ideal for aurora watching right from your doorstep.

20. What wildlife can be seen in the area?
Utsjoki is home to a variety of wildlife, including:

  • Reindeer, arctic foxes, and various bird species

  • Larger animals such as bears, lynx, or elk are rare but occasionally observed

21. What activities are available nearby?
The surrounding wilderness is perfect for hiking, snowshoeing, skiing, and other seasonal activities. Additional activities can be arranged upon request for an extra fee.

22. Are there hiking trails nearby?
Yes, several hiking trails surround the cabin. Guests can also begin hikes directly from the cabin. Guided hikes can be arranged for an extra fee.

23. How far is the nearest grocery store?
The nearest grocery store is approximately 40–70 minutes away by car, either in Utsjoki or Karigasniemi, Finland, or Karasjokk, Norway.

24. Are there any local restaurants or cafes nearby?
Local dining options are available in Utsjoki and Karigasniemi, about 40–60 minutes away. Unless custom services are ordered through StayNorth, it is recommended to bring your own food for the fully equipped kitchen.

25. How far are emergency services?
Emergency services are about 2 hours away. Guests are advised to take precautions and prepare adequately for outdoor activities. Geo locations for emergencies are provided inside the cabin.

26. Are there any medical facilities nearby?
The nearest basic medical facility is 40 minutes away, with the closest full medical station 2.5 hours away. Please bring any necessary medications and first-aid supplies.

27. Is there mobile phone reception?
Yes, mobile phone reception is available, though signal strength may vary depending on your provider, weather conditions, and exact location. We recommend using WhatsApp or a similar app for voice calls.
We also provide guests with a 5G tablet that can be taken along on hikes or road trips at no extra charge, which can also function as a hotspot.

28. What should I pack for my stay?
We recommend bringing:

  • Warm clothing, including gloves (weather can change quickly, especially in winter)

  • Appropriate footwear for hiking or snowshoeing

  • Any specific groceries or supplies you may need

29. Is smoking allowed?
Smoking is strictly prohibited inside the cabin. Outdoor smoking areas can be used responsibly away from entrances and natural vegetation.

The cabin is privately owned and is not currently for sale.

37. Is there an outdoor jacuzzi?
No, the intent of the house is to be as least intrusive to the surrounding nature as possible, and as such we have opted not to install an outdoor pool or jacuzzi.

English, Finnish, and Sami are spoken fluently in the area.
