FAQ – Four Cabin House

1. Where is the cabin located?
The cabin is located in Utsjoki, in the far north of Finnish Lapland, atop a picturesque fell. It is surrounded by 80 hectares (200 acres) of private land, including a waterfall, streams, and panoramic wilderness views.

2. How many people can the cabin accommodate?
The cabin accommodates up to 4 adults/children in two dedicated sleeping areas, with space for an additional 2 guests using temporary bedding.

3. What time is check-in and check-out?

  • Check-in: 16:00 (4:00 PM)

  • Check-out: 12:00 (12:00 PM)

4. Are pets allowed?
No, unfortunately we cannot accept pets guests at the current time.

5. Are bedding and towels provided?
Yes, fresh bedding and towels are included for all guests.

6. What services are included in the rental price?
Included services:

  • Firewood for the fireplaces

  • Transportation from the parking lot to the cabin on arrival and departure days

7. Are there any chargeable services available?
Yes, additional services can be arranged for an extra fee. Services can be booked via StayNorth or directly via our partners. Please check the activities section for details.

8. How do I get to the cabin?
Guests park in a designated lot at the beginning of the property. Transportation from the parking area to the cabin is provided on arrival and departure days via all-terrain vehicle or snow scooter.

9. Do I need a car to reach the cabin?
Yes, a car is recommended to reach the parking lot and explore the surrounding area, as public transportation options are limited. However, your stay can be arranged without a personal vehicle if preferred.

10. Is there internet access in the cabin?
Yes, the cabin is equipped with internet access suitable for streaming and remote work.

11. What kitchen facilities are available?
The cabin has a fully equipped kitchen, including:

  • Refrigerator, oven, stove, dishwasher, microwave, and coffee maker

  • All necessary cookware and utensils

12. Are there fireplaces in the cabin?
Yes, the cabin features two fireplaces for added comfort.

13. Is there a sauna in the cabin?
Yes, the cabin has a traditional Finnish sauna that guests can easily use.

14. What activities are available nearby?
The surrounding wilderness is perfect for:

  • Hiking, snowshoeing, skiing, and other seasonal activities

  • Additional activities can be arranged upon request for an extra fee

15. How far is the nearest grocery store?
The nearest grocery store is approximately 40 minutes away by car, either in Utsjoki, Finland, or Karasjokk, Norway.

16. How far are emergency services?
Emergency services are about 2 hours away. Guests are advised to take precautions and prepare adequately for outdoor activities. Geo locations for emergencies are provided inside the cabin.

17. Are there any medical facilities nearby?
The nearest basic medical facility is 40 minutes away, with the closest full medical station 2.5 hours away. Please bring any necessary medications and first-aid supplies.

18. Is there mobile phone reception?
Yes, mobile phone reception is available, though signal strength may vary depending on your provider, weather conditions, and exact location.

19. What should I pack for my stay?
We recommend bringing:

  • Warm clothing, including gloves (especially in winter)

  • Appropriate footwear for hiking or snowshoeing

  • Any specific groceries or supplies you may need

20. Is there a TV in the cabin?
Yes, the cabin is equipped with a television and several streaming services available free of charge.

21. Are cleaning services provided?
Yes, final cleaning upon departure is included. Any damage or negligence may result in a fee or deduction from the deposit.

22. Can I see the northern lights from the cabin?
Yes, the cabin’s north-facing location in Utsjoki offers excellent opportunities to view the northern lights, especially in winter. Minimal light pollution makes it ideal for aurora watching right from your doorstep.

23. What wildlife can be seen in the area?
Utsjoki is home to a variety of wildlife, including:

  • Reindeer, arctic foxes, and various bird species

  • Larger animals such as bears, lynx, or elk are rare but occasionally observed

24. What kind of heating does the cabin have?
The cabin features central underfloor heating, as well as two fireplaces to create a cozy atmosphere.

25. Are there hiking trails nearby?
Yes, several hiking trails surround the cabin. Guests can also begin hikes directly from the cabin. Guided hikes can be arranged for an extra fee.

26. Are there any local restaurants or cafes nearby?
Local dining options are available in Utsjoki and Karigasniemi, about 40 minutes away. Unless custom services are ordered through StayNorth, it is recommended to bring your own food for the fully equipped kitchen.

27. Do you offer airport transfers?
Yes, airport transfers can be arranged for an additional fee via StayNorth.
